Tsujido Coast, Fujisawa: A Coastal Walk with Mt. Fuji Views and Shonan Charm

tsujido coast with mt fuji

Tsujido Coast in Fujisawa, Kanagawa is a long beach along the Shonan shoreline. It is not a tourist-heavy spot, which makes it easy to visit without dealing with big crowds. People come here for walks, surfing, and open views of the sea. On clear days, you can also see Mt Fuji in the distance across the water.

From Tsujido Station, it is usually a walk or short bike ride to the coast. As you get closer, the streets open up and the sound of traffic fades. Eventually you reach the beach area, where everything becomes more open and quiet.

The beach is wide and has a lot of space. Even on weekends, it does not feel packed. Surfers are common here because the waves are consistent. You will also see people jogging, walking dogs, or just sitting along the shore. It is more of a local beach than a tourist attraction.

The main highlight for many visitors is the view of Mt Fuji. It is not always visible, but on clear days it appears far across Sagami Bay. It looks small because of the distance, but it is easy to recognize.

The view changes depending on weather and time of day. Sometimes Mt Fuji is fully visible, sometimes it is partly covered by clouds, and sometimes it does not appear at all. This is normal for coastal views in this area.

Sunset is a common time for people to visit. The sky changes color, and the light becomes softer over the ocean. If Mt Fuji is visible, it sits in the background while the sun goes down. It is a simple view, but many people stay to watch it.

There are walking paths along the coast, so you can continue exploring in either direction. Some people walk toward nearby Shonan beaches, while others just stay in one spot. There is no fixed route or activity needed.

Facilities near the beach are limited. There are not many shops directly on the sand, so it is better to bring drinks or snacks if you plan to stay for a while. Most people prepare before coming.

Tsujido Coast is straightforward. It is a local beach where people go for fresh air, exercise, and sea views. It does not have many attractions or events, just open space and a steady view of the ocean.
